The International Language Symposium provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and examples of best practice with an audience of language education professionals from all over the world right in the center of Europe.
Attendees will include academic managers, language teachers and business directors along with specialists from international education organizations.
Symposium themes
The 2019 Symposium program will be organized under these main themes:
- Training the Teacher Trainer and Teacher Training
- Management and Marketing for Teachers
- Language Teaching and Learning
- Psychology and Motivation
- Publishing
- ELF
- Corpus Use
- Running Your Own Language School
What we are looking for
We are looking for practical topics and case studies that will actively engage participants.
Proposals should link to one of the conference strands and meet at least one of the criteria below:
- Give case studies and share practical solutions for participants to use in their institutions
- Explore trends and developments
- Focus on language learning from the perspective of several different languages and/or different educational context
Format of presentations and workshops
These will be delivered as breakout sessions for up to 50 participants.
Presentations will be delivered in 30-minute slots. Your presentation should take no more than 20-minutes and you should allow 5 minutes at the end for a question and answer session or discussion.
Workshops should be interactive and may be a forum for sharing expertise between participants. They will be delivered in 40 or 60-minute slots.

The Symposium Committee will confirm whether your proposal has been accepted.
Timing of sessions
Presentations and workshops will be scheduled between 10:00am on Thursday, June 6th and 3:00pm on Saturday, June 8th. In submitting your proposal, you commit to being available between these times.
Costs of attendance
Workshop presenters will be expected to register for the symposium and to cover all the costs of attending the event (travel, accommodation and symposium registration fee).
