{"id":41,"date":"2016-06-03T05:34:03","date_gmt":"2016-06-03T05:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/symposium2017.ca-institute.com\/?page_id=41"},"modified":"2019-05-12T16:20:02","modified_gmt":"2019-05-12T16:20:02","slug":"call-for-papers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/symposium.ca-institute.com\/index.php\/call-for-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers ILSB19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>2nd<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Call for papers &#8211; Deadline: May 2nd<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Play a direct role in the&nbsp;<strong>INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE SYMPOSIUM BRNO 2019<\/strong>&nbsp;by becoming a speaker.<\/p>\n<p>Plenary speakers: Dorothy Zemach, Thom Kiddle, Chris Farrell and more&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hosted and Coordinated by:<\/strong>&nbsp;CA Institute and Masaryk University<\/p>\n<p>The International Language Symposium provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and examples of best practice with an audience of language education professionals from all over the world right in the center of Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will include academic managers, language teachers and business directors along with specialists from international education organizations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Symposium themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Symposium program will be organized under these main themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Training the Teacher Trainer and Teacher Training<\/li>\n<li>Management and Marketing for Teachers<\/li>\n<li>Language Teaching and Learning<\/li>\n<li>Psychology and Motivation<\/li>\n<li>Publishing<\/li>\n<li>ELF<\/li>\n<li>Corpus Use<\/li>\n<li>Running Your Own Language School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What we are looking for<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are looking for practical topics and case studies that will actively engage participants.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals should link to one of the conference strands and meet at least one of the criteria below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Give&nbsp;<u>case studies<\/u>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<u>share practical solutions<\/u>&nbsp;for participants to use in their institutions<\/li>\n<li>Explore&nbsp;<u>trends<\/u>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<u>developments<\/u><\/li>\n<li>Focus on language learning from the perspective of&nbsp;<u>several different languages<\/u>&nbsp;and\/or&nbsp;<u>different educational context<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Format of presentations and workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These will be delivered as breakout sessions for up to 50 participants.<\/p>\n<p><u>Presentations<\/u>&nbsp;will be delivered in 30-minute slots. Your presentation should take no more than 20-minutes and you should allow 5 minutes at the end for a question and answer session or discussion.<\/p>\n<p><u>Workshops<\/u>&nbsp;should be interactive and may be a forum for sharing expertise between participants. They will be delivered in 40 or 60-minute slots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submitting a proposal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send short bio, picture and abstract to the Symposium Committee at events@ca-institute.com or complete this <a href=\"http:\/\/symposium.ca-institute.com\/index.php\/speaker-proposal-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline for proposals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>TBD<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Symposium Committee will confirm whether your proposal has been accepted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Timing of sessions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Presentations and workshops will be scheduled between 10:00am on Thursday, June 6th and 3:00pm on Saturday, June 8th.
